Accommodation for wedding guests.

Accommodation is a must for weddings when guest travel from far. No one wants to drive home late at night when you have the opportunity to overnight at a beautiful guest house right next to the venue.

The questions are who has to pay for this? Do you as couple have to spend so much more to accommodate your guests or expect them to pay themselves? We have a few answers and opinions for you.

Venue Choice:

There are so many venues that offer accommodation for guests on their premises or nearby guesthouses in the surrounding areas. By choosing the right venue you create an opportunity for your guests not to travel so far and stay close by so no one has to drive after enjoying the feestivies. Leipzig Country House & Winery offers 21 rooms for a total of 42 guests sharing and within walking distance of the venue which is a huge perk.

Accommodation Payment:

Is this something the bride and groom has to pay or the guests? Not everyone can afford to pay for all the guests accommodation, so in our opinion it is most common for the couple to pay for only their close relatives and bridal party and for the rest of the guests to have the option made available and they pay the costs.

Tips for Accommodation:

  1. Remember that not all of your guests can afford the luxury accommodation you have to offer. Keep this in mind and find accommodation nearby to suit all budgets. A lot of guesthouses also offer discounted rates when booking more than a certain amount of rooms.
  2. When searching for different prices, take a look whether the establishment offers breakfast for guests. This is always nice when everyone gets together the last time after the wedding and share their stories of the special day.
  3. Find out what their facilities are so you know your guests are comfortable and being well looked after.
  4. Book well in advance, make sure you indicate this on your invitations.

The Month Of Love

Bride & Groom Cake

Did you know that February is National Wedding Month?

Not only are we three weeks into the month of love, but also the National Wedding Month. And what a beautiful month to get married in South Africa. Valentine’s day has become such a popular day to get married on, that people are booking these dates well in advance. The month of love also brings us an extra day every four years, which has also become a very popular date for weddings. With so much love, why not get married in February.

Have a look at one of our beautiful weddings, showcasing so much love. The most amazing pink hydrangeas and natural table settings. The couple had a lot of natural items brought into their wedding with flower arrangements on our rustic arch and wooden planks at their table settings. Leipzig Country House offers so many outside areas with beautiful sceneries for the most amazing photos. See for yourself…

Our Favourite On-Location Spots on Leipzig

Even though there are so many places to shoot at Leipzig Country House, we have our favourites.

  1. The Olive Orchards

The subtle green surrounds the couple in nature but keeps the focus on the bride and groom. The white, supplied by the wedding dress creates a contrast between softness and clarity.

2. Winery

The winery is an exciting spot to shoot, it provides more than one option and is an elegant background. I just love a shoot in the cellar itself with bottles as the background.

3. Rose Garden

You can never go wrong with shooting at a Rose Garden. Roses and weddings goes hand-in-hand, as roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty. It is definitely a must when it comes to the location of the shoot. I mean, look how romantic this looks, I just want to fall in love all over again.

4. Honeymoon Suite

There’s a kind of sweetness and joy in the air when it comes to the bride getting ready for het big day. A fairy tale feeling coming to life. Excitement is all around, giggling ladies gushing and getting their make-up done, dressed in beautiful gowns. This is not to be missed by the photographer. It’s also why it’s one of our favourite spots for a shoot.

5. Leipzig’s Entrance

Leipzig’s entrance projects that happily-ever-after moment. That moment where the prince and the princess walk off, into the sunset, knowing the best love story has just been written. And with a big mountain as the backdrop, what more can you want?

6. Historical Building

It is not just me who is in love with this historical building’s raw appearance, but photographers too. It may be the old and borrowed feeling with contrast to the newlyweds or it may be the simple and rustic look which deepens the characters of the photo.

8. The Manor House

Another great historical building to capture those special memories straight after the “I-do”.
