Back in March 2017 we had the honor to be a part of this beautiful couple’s wedding day.

Karike & Werner had a truly extraordinary weekend with us, celebrating their family and friends and showing the type of love you can see when being around them. The Roos brothers did not disappoint in capturing this with their combined photography ad videography! Just take a look at the amazing video below showcasing the wonderful weekend in the Nuy Valley.

The weekend started off with a get together of the family and friends the evening before. They had a pizza tuk-tuk catering for them the evening and we provided drinks. They had some fun and games with family including Giant Jenga and our Italian bowl set.

Saturday the guys kicked off the day with a Nuy Valley Tractor Trailer drive to Willowcreek for olive oil tasting and Conradie Family Vineyards for wine tasting and finished at Leipzig with wine tasting. All while the girls started their day out with make-up, bubbly, fun and laughter with her bridesmaids.

A beautiful ceremony took place in our garden underneath the century old oak tree and this is also where both of them said their own vows to each other. Werner promised all his love to Karike and promised she would never walk alone again. He also promised to walk hand in hand with their path leading forward.

She promised where he’ll go, she’ll go and stay where he is. His God is hers and she chooses him above all with all of his strengths and weakness. She chooses him and him alone and is looking forward for the road ahead.

The group went to take photos at the amphitheater and we quickly turned the ceremony area into their pre-drinks area. Hosted outside in the garden with games for young and old. Guests were spoiled with Saggy Stone beer, cocktails, while waiters roamed around with gourmet canapes.

Their colour scheme green, white & touches of gold. The reception so beautiful with candles surrounding the entire hall. Slow braised Red Wine Lamb Shanks was a sensation for main, while others enjoyed a Creamed White Leipzig Chicken dish as an option. Guests danced the night away with decadent canape-style desserts to snack on.

The crowd were definite dancers and the floor was full the entire evening. They opened the dancefloor with bubbles surrounding the two of them, upon their second song all guest popped crackers filled with golden confetti and danced the night away.

Accommodation for wedding guests.

Accommodation is a must for weddings when guest travel from far. No one wants to drive home late at night when you have the opportunity to overnight at a beautiful guest house right next to the venue.

The questions are who has to pay for this? Do you as couple have to spend so much more to accommodate your guests or expect them to pay themselves? We have a few answers and opinions for you.

Venue Choice:

There are so many venues that offer accommodation for guests on their premises or nearby guesthouses in the surrounding areas. By choosing the right venue you create an opportunity for your guests not to travel so far and stay close by so no one has to drive after enjoying the feestivies. Leipzig Country House & Winery offers 21 rooms for a total of 42 guests sharing and within walking distance of the venue which is a huge perk.

Accommodation Payment:

Is this something the bride and groom has to pay or the guests? Not everyone can afford to pay for all the guests accommodation, so in our opinion it is most common for the couple to pay for only their close relatives and bridal party and for the rest of the guests to have the option made available and they pay the costs.

Tips for Accommodation:

Remember that not all of your guests can afford the luxury accommodation you have to offer. Keep this in mind and find accommodation nearby to suit all budgets. A lot of guesthouses also offer discounted rates when booking more than a certain amount of rooms.
When searching for different prices, take a look whether the establishment offers breakfast for guests. This is always nice when everyone gets together the last time after the wedding and share their stories of the special day.
Find out what their facilities are so you know your guests are comfortable and being well looked after.
Book well in advance, make sure you indicate this on your invitations.

Valentine’s day has become such a popular day to get married on, that people are booking these dates well in advance. The month of love also brings us an extra day every four years, which has also become a very popular date for weddings. With so much love, why not get married in February.

We’ve observed that activities are forming a trend when it comes to conferences, as most companies try to create a memorable experience for the delegates. Employees are more involved, rather than the usual full-day conference where they are pumped full with information and head home worn-out and exhausted. Rather incorporate an activity to keep delegates enthusiastic, resulting in a focused group and productiveness.

Team-building activities are less popular at conferences, as companies focus on team-building as a separate unity. It requires a lot of energy and might leave delegates drained, resulting in distraction from the session. Minor activities allow delegates to relax while having fun, leaving delegated fresh and interested in the session. Classical Cars

We love to brag with the Classical Car groups that visit us, we had the privilege of hosting a classical car group, where Bentleys and MG’s turned heads at their arrival.

The group enjoyed a lovely stroll with the scenic road towards our Guest House. Guests rested in our beautiful luxury accommodation and was spoiled by a 3-course candlelight dinner in our century old wine cellar. The next day guests were taken on a tractor drive through the Nuy Valley. After exploring the area, guests were treated with a personal wine tasting experience by the Winery Manager before another delicious dinner. One of the guests performed a beautiful song to end off their stay.

NICOLE & DIVAN

We are so excited to share this post with you…. Nicole & Divan’s wedding was breathtakingly beautiful. We absolutely love everything of this romantic winter wedding and it was such an honour to be part of this special day.

“A lasting marriage always begins with an enduring friendship”, and we can certainly say that Nicole married her best friend on 2 July 2016. It was beautiful to the see the teamwork, affection and thoughtfulness between them.

The day started out with make-up, bubbly, fun and laughter with her bridesmaids. Nicole was calm and excited at the same time when her dad walked her down the aisle, while Divan looked at her in awe. A beautiful ceremony announced Nicole & Divan married.

Pre-drinks were hosted in our century old red wine cellar, which turned into the dance floor later at night. Guests were spoiled with Muscadel, Red Wine and Hot Chocolate to keep them warm. Lounge pockets brought a cosy atmosphere and guests huddled up to the fire place. Waiters roamed around with gourmet canapes.

A colour scheme of green, white & gold with a touch of navy brought an elegant touch to reception. The Ghost-chairs looked so chic with the flower runner on long tables. Slow braised Red Wine Lamb Shanks was a sensation, while others enjoyed a Creamed White Leipzig Chicken dish as an option. Guests danced the night away with decadent canape-style desserts to snack on.

Well this place is such a gem and though but was just a night stay but really loved their food. There's Tom for improvement especially through landscapes and through outdoors to make it more child friendly. The fact that room is just a studio with a few beds was also a turn off for me especially at that price. I would prefer some privacy but hospitality was really amazingBreakfast didn't live up to - absilutely no effort put in whatsoever and must say it didn't love to expectation after the 3 course meal I had the previous nightWould I go back? Maybe just for a day visit and for their excellent but not a stay

Airconditioning rooms, scenic mountain and vineyard views, spacious, clean, extremely hospitable staff and welcome, comfortable, peaceful, dinner and breakfast is top notch, even has an honesty bar! Will highly recommend and return!

I can truly say that one receives royal treatment here, and a customer experience second none. Exceptional food and the most beautiful scenery surrounding the grounds with a mountainous backdrop from which one struggles to look away. Small upgrades to the bar and lounge area will make the facilities perfect, but still a phenomenal place to stay with plenty to do!

An absolutely gorgeous view and stunning venue for a wedding. The staff were always smiling ear to ear! The food served at the wedding was incredible and I liked the fact that you could choose from a few options and everyone seemed to enjoy their food a lot. The cash bar was also affordable for a wine estate.We stayed in one of the guest houses for two evenings. The beds were really comfortable and we got a great night's sleep both nights. However, my fiancé specifically booked a room with a bath tub and we paid extra to get the room. When we got to our room, we were put in one of the other rooms without notifying us... Whether the mistake came from the Leipzig staff side or if one of the other couples quickly swapped out the names in the rooms before we arrived, we don't know, but we decided not to make a scene about it to avoid stressing out the bride and groom. It's just a bit frustrating because we booked far in advance and paid extra for the room just to not get what we booked.I would still recommend them as a great wedding venue to anyone considering getting married here.
